Angela and Ronald’s Wedding at the Estate at River Run

On a towering bluff overlooking the James River, less than 30-minutes from downtown Richmond sits the Georgian Revival Mansion known as The Estate at River Run. The long winding driveway and stately entrance gate made the perfect stage for breathtaking drone footage. Angela’s opulent bridal suite with copious amounts of natural light emanating from the wall of arched windows created the perfect backdrop for her getting ready footage. Meanwhile, Ronald and the groomsmen enjoyed the afternoon at the Jeffersonian-inspired Pool House followed by whiskey and cigars in the Woodhaven Billiard Lounge. The rich browns of the furnishings married with deep teal playfield made for stunning images of the groom.

At the appointed hour, Angela and the bridesmaids, walked down the curved staircase onto the Blue Stone Terrace to join Ronald, the groomsmen, family, and friends for a late afternoon outdoor wedding ceremony. To capture the ceremony in full, the MV Wedding Films team positioned three stationary cameras on the perimeter, two videographers equipped with handhelds, and a drone hovering just out of earshot over the James River.

Then the party started! In front of massive brick fireplaces, everyone enjoyed a five-course plated dinner followed by toasts all in the Tuscan Ballroom. With a boost from our team’s LED light kit, the warm natural light in the room created a perfect ambiance for the speeches.

An epic two-story bouquet toss, Brick to BlueStone Terrace, made the evening!

Angela and Ronald love to dance! They began in the Marble Foyer for the first dances, traveled out to the Brick Terrace for Angela’s time with her father and bridesmaids, and then finally it was DJ time in the Cameo Ballroom. The reception is electric; a perfect time for our team to utilize creative lighting, slow or accelerated motion, and other techniques to capture the energy in the room.
