As artists, we are passionate about detail. We’re fastidious about our equipment, lighting, framing, and all the way through the editing, music selection, and color imagery.

And we’re part of your team. We collaborate seamlessly with planners, stylists, photographers, floral designers, caterers… to help elevate the entire celebration.

We’re passionate about creating an experience that goes beyond your wedding day. We want to be your guide, resource, advocate, and friend. We want to film your day and join you on the dance floor.

Our Core Values

Our goal is to TELL YOUR STORY. We’ll ask you how you fell in love, what you admire most about your partner, and what you imagine your future looks like. We’ll talk about your wedding celebration whether it’s a day or an entire weekend. We’ll ask you about the vibe, the music, and who’s coming. Getting to know your vendor team’s essential too! We’re committed to understanding and capturing all the nuances of what makes this day yours.

We can’t wait to CONNECT + COLLABORATE. This is YOUR wedding. And we encourage you and your partner to be part of this collaborative process. The more we know about you as individuals and as a couple, the stronger the film. Your ideas and your feedback are always welcome. Plus we’ll consult with your planner, venue, photographer, and the entire vendor team.

CLIENT EXPERIENCE. You’ll be introduced to our unique, step-by-step process including a creative session, a site visit, time in front of the camera prior to the wedding, a link to your TRAILER, and, lastly, the review and delivery of your film/s.

An INTIMATE and POWERFUL FILM. Our goal is to create a visually striking, cinematic film that is meaningful for today, tomorrow, and for years to come.

Our Team

Anne C. McKenzie

Producer

I’ll answer all your questions, join you during visits to the venue, plan the logistics, and ensure your films are delivered on time. Collaborating with your planner, stylist, photographer, floral designer, caterer, and the rest of your vendor team is what I do best. I’m a bookaholic, love being outdoors doing just about anything with my fur baby, Riley, and finding quiet moments filled with awe.

DeVonte Spurlock

Cinematographer & Lead Editor

I learned the art of Cinema at VCU under the direction of the best of the best including the Producers of E.R. and the director of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love music and use it as inspiration for my visual work. I have a young creative eye and I’m always ready for the next story to tell. I love getting a chance to share moments with couples from all walks of life and being there to help tell their story. Horror movies are my thing. I love being scared! When I find the need to escape, you’ll find me VR gaming with friends.

Carson McGregor

Videographer + Drone Flyer

Ever since I got my first camcorder as a gift on my 13th birthday, I’ve been in love with visual storytelling. I’ve been lucky enough to have the opportunity to utilize that passion as a videographer and editor. After becoming a certified Part 107 drone operator, I knew I had found my niche, despite my severe fear of heights. In my free time you can find me in the kitchen making handmade pasta with a lovely carbonara sauce; or hiking and camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains, to regain my sense of self.

Ricky Lapkin

Founder and Technical Director

A native of Richmond, founder Ricky Lapkin, started filming weddings in the late ‘80s. His creativity and business acumen have resulted in a successful video production business, Memories Videography, now in its 33rd year of business. A keen eye for talent, technical flexibility, and MacGyver like problem-solving skills have all been key to his success.
