We’re passionate about creating an experience that goes beyond your wedding day. We want to be your guide, resource, advocate, and friend. We want to film your day and join you on the dance floor.

Anne C. McKenzie

Producer

I’ll answer all your questions, join you during visits to the venue, plan the logistics, and ensure your films are delivered on time. Collaborating with your planner, stylist, photographer, floral designer, caterer, and the rest of your vendor team is what I do best. I’m a bookaholic, love being outdoors doing just about anything with my fur baby, Riley, and finding quiet moments filled with awe.

DeVonte Spurlock

Cinematographer &  Lead Editor

I learned the art of Cinema at VCU under the direction of the best of the best including the Producers of E.R. and the director of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love music and use it as inspiration for my visual work. I have a young creative eye and I’m always ready for the next story to tell. I love getting a chance to share moments with couples from all walks of life and being there to help tell their story. Horror movies are my thing. I love being scared! When I find the need to escape, you’ll find me VR gaming with friends.

Carson McGregor

Ever since I got my first camcorder as a gift on my 13th birthday, I’ve been in love with visual storytelling. I’ve been lucky enough to have the opportunity to utilize that passion as a videographer and editor. After becoming a certified Part 107 drone operator, I knew I had found my niche, despite my severe fear of heights. In my free time you can find me in the kitchen making handmade pasta with a lovely carbonara sauce; or hiking and camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains, to regain my sense of self.

Once I decide to tackle a new skill, I dig in and figure it out. That’s how I started in video. I grabbed a camera, did a deep dive on YouTube, and started filming. Along the way, I found a few mentors and now I make my living by stretching my analytical and creative selves. Plus I get to meet amazing people along the way. I find it incredibly fulfilling to produce a video that someone will watch and enjoy for a lifetime. Hiking the Rocky Mountains is the best! Vacationing in Ocracoke isn’t bad either.

Ricky Lapkin

Founder and Technical Director

A native of Richmond, founder Ricky Lapkin, started filming weddings in the late ‘80s. His creativity and business acumen have resulted in a successful video production business, Memories Videography, now in its 33rd year of business. A keen eye for talent, technical flexibility, and MacGyver like problem-solving skills have all been key to his success.
